Battle is no different than a game of Chess. Like chess, my first move has already decided your fate.

The Chessmaster tactically leads his allies to victory through unparalleled teamwork and camaraderie. Always able to imagine not only the battlefield, but the mindsets of enemy and ally alike, the Chessmaster is able to guide the flow of battle in whatever way he sees fit.

During combat, you may place an 8x8 Local Field Effect that includes you within the effect. This is your Board. All of your Actions that have Ranged 3 now have Ranged Board, which includes all squares within the Board and no squares outside of it. You are a King and may also designate a Foe on the board as a King. Kings cannot leave the Board. You may cancel this effect as a Slow Action. Slow + Slow to re-place the board. If you have multiple abilities which designate Kings, you must designate the same Foe for all of them.

At any point during combat, you may designate Other Heroes as a piece and the designation lasts until the end of Combat and cannot be changed. Class Actions that list Pieces in the Target can only be used on those Pieces but gain their Inaugurate effect. Any action may be used on a Pawn without the Inaugurate effect.
